For my dreaded 20th birthday, I got taken on a weekend trip to the Lake District. As it was a bank holiday, the towns were buzzing and it was generally a lovely atmosphere.
Whilst the scenery wasn't as breathtaking as my usual Wales trip, the people were definitely nicer! I say this because as a person of colour (just about0 I get a lot of dirty looks and just bad vibes from the locals in seaside or country towns around the UK so this was a refreshing place to be.
There wasn't much to do beside drive around and climb hills (in platform Vagabonds - I DO NOT recommend) so a weekend trip is just the right amount of time you need there.
