You're The Worst is the television show that follows self-centered writer Jimmy (Chris Geere) and self-destructive PR lady Gretchen (Aya Cash) through their train-wreck LA lives.
I love pretty much everything about this show. It shows messy adults but not in the filtered way that The Mindy Project or New Girl does, in a real way. A way that is not afraid to show adults taking cocaine and having sex and it being a 'mistake'. It's just like 'yes, we had coke and fucked, problem?'. It actually showcases how real adults really act and I think that is actually quite rare to see even though it feels like a lot shows try to do that.
The characters are so likeable because they are so normal. They're not afraid to say or do what they want and they're actually genuinely funny. And funny in the non-obvious way which is the best kind of way. There is also a lot of diversity in the cast and well, that's always great isn't it? The sub-characters are equally as interesting (if not more) as the main characters and that works wonderfully for the show.
Whilst the comedy in this is a bit OTT and crude, it's done in a way that doesn't offend me. Usually that type of humour, I don't vibe with but in this case it's done quite tastefully and just decently. I think its the characters personalities again that make it bearable.

The show is just starting it's second season but so far so good. It's nice to finally watch a real adult show that isn't wrapped in censorship. I would definitely recommend this for all the young adults out there, although I'm not sure it's a show everyone will relate to.
