Wicked City is the thrilling series that follows serial killer Kent Galloway, played by Ed Westwick. Based in 1982 on the Sunset Strip, we also follow two LAPD detectives trying to find the killer who seems to outsmart them at every given chance.

There's a lot more to Wicked City than meets the eye. As most shows, movies and documentaries about serial killers are, it's about the personality, the relationships and the habits the serial killer has. Why they do what they do and how the specifically do it. Wicked City is different though because, for me anyway, you don't feel like Galloway is a bad person for killing these girls. You can see his vulnerability, that he has a conscious and that he is actually a very nice and sensitive guy.

Immediately what drew me into the show was the time setting, the clothes, the location and the music. There's a lot of shows about serial killers these days, it's nothing new but Wicked City really focused in on the details which made it much more interesting. From the cars and the houses to the people and the clothes, the producers really got it right here and it made the show have that little bit more edge compared to its competition.

Unfortunately Wicked City got cancelled by ABC after only 3 episodes. Therefore (I assume) the storylines had to be rushed and changed accordingly but this didn't stop the 8 episodes that were made from being excellent. Some say Wicked City went for style over substance but I think it was an all around good show and if it were to have aired on Netflix rather than TV it would've done much better than it did.

Don't dismiss Wicked City because of it's cancellation. It's a very captivating show with a solid cast, plot, production and it's actually very well written and thought out. If nothing else, you should watch it for Ed Westwick's performance alone. Hopefully the show will get picked up and returns to screens in 2016.
