The Goldbergs is a television show centered around the lives of an 80's family, based on the actual family of creator Adam F. Goldberg.

This show is definitely one that is becoming a favourite in my household. It's been a while since something new came out that everyone in my house enjoyed.

I think what works so well about this show is that it's based around a family, which you don't see very often anymore. Whereas there were once shows such as My Wife and Kids and That 70's Show most shows now are focused on friendship groups or romance. Having a family focused show really brings everyone together though as everyone can relate to a character.

The Goldbergs is hilarious, whilst at times being slightly slapstick, it also has the kind of sarcastic and hidden humour that I find funny. The characters are all very enjoyable to watch and you don't get offended or annoyed by any of them which is the case in many programmes.

Being based in the 80's, its a programme that the older generations can enjoy as well as generation Y. This again makes it perfect daytime television to watch with the family, which definitely makes it more enjoyable. What I like most however, is that although it's based in the 80's it compares itself to the modern day with references to YouTube, the Internet and such - this brings the two worlds together making it even more relatable and enjoyable to watch.

The Goldbergs is a show that television (or at least British television) has been missing. Everything about it is refreshing to watch yet nostalgic too. Although it's not comparable to Modern Family, if you do like that show then this a show you must check out.
