Chanel has brought the runway to life once again.

With the fall/winter collection we see the theme of a casino. Karl Lagerfield sets the story with some of the worlds finest playing a game of poker (?). He explains that it's like a fantasy world, in which elegant women come to the casino in jewels and such.

The collection itself was beautiful. As a person who has only recently turned 20, I am generally off put by the classic Chanel jacket and such. I feel as though it was beautiful in it's time period and on the older lady it looks excellent but I don't feel like they have yet found a way to modernise the jacket - this is something that has mostly put me off the Chanel haute couture collections.

However, this show changed me. Although initially the show started out in the typical jacket and skirt way, it progressed into these beautiful dresses with unique cuts and shapes. It felt a lot more modern but still luxurious and classic.

I think the choice of 'celebrities' to participate was strange but worked well. Jemima Kirke (and we all know how I feel about that babe) was there, playing alongside the likes of Kirsten Stewart and Julianne Moore, it felt a little out of place as when I think of Jemima I don't think haute couture or even Chanel. I liked how they incorporated the likes of G-Dragon, Rita Ora and Lily-Rose Depp. It showed diversity and also the youth/modern aspect.

Some of my favourite looks from the show are:

The makeup and shoes are what stood out to me most, collection wise. It took me a while to come around to liking the shoes, they looked very unflattering at first but the whole edgy-ness of them I appreciate.

The makeup seemed very Russian doll to me, which isn't a bad thing but it also came across as if the ladies were spies, which works in favour of the casino theme and Karl's image for the show. Whereas it matched the theme greatly, it matched the clothing even better. The outfits were strong and bold, much like the eyebrows and hair but they were also flowing and dainty which I feel like the almost neon cheeks and rosy lips matched.

And of course. Kendall Jenner closed the show as the Chanel bride. Whilst she definitely gave character to the whole outfit and had the bitch glare down, it cannot be denied that she just doesn't have the look or the personality to be closing a show. I don't feel as though it's fair to all the other 'real' models. But we can't deny she still looked great.
