The Pill, follows two strangers who hook up and have suddenly become apart of each other lives when they have to get the morning after pill.

The film started quite abruptly and almost no context was given into the lives of these people or how they got to where they are but it worked. The two people didn't know each other either so we were getting to know them as they were which was an interesting experience.

The storyline itself was unique. It's somewhat rare to see this aspect of a one night stand being explored, especially in such an honest way. The script was comedic at times but mostly it was just well written. It was great to see such open characters and watch an untypical love story. The ending was pretty obvious early on but it was still nice to watch it all unravel.

The characters were the type of people you don't know if you hate or like. At times you didn't know who to sympathise with or who's side you were on. They were both selfish in their own right but they also both caring and hurt. They had an enjoyable on screen presence and although their chemistry wasn't obvious, I think that is what helped the plot.

Cinematography in The Pill wasn't anything special. It looked like a high quality, low budget film with at times shaky camera work. The colours were bright and spacious which helped keep me interested visually.

Overall, The Pill was an ok film. It didn't do anything new or particularly interesting but it was a good character study and I feel like it had a mostly relatable storyline. A very easy watch if you're looking for something on a lazy night in.
