Band Name: Dead Man's Bones.
Members: Ryan Gosling, Zach Shields.

Dead Man's Bones is the rock duo formed by Ryan Gosling and Zach Shields, two best friends. With the use of Silverlake Conservatory Children's Choir, they come together to create a very unique, chilling and exceptionally exquisite sound.

I first came across this band when searching for Ryan Gosling directorial interviews. How I have lived the past 7 years they have been active, without knowing them, is a myth. They supply such a unique and distinctive sound and produce such imagery in their words it's unreal.

Although I'm sure there are many bands who make a sound like this, for the past couple of years I haven't found or heard anything like them at all. Their voices alone are so mesmerising and then they are especially complimented by the voices of the Silverlake Conservatory Children's Choir.
Their sound is exactly how music should be, it's very reminiscent of the bands back in the day, when music still had some meaning to it. You can really tell that they are making the music that they want and I feel like that is what makes it sound so special.

Lyrically, the words they use are so on point. They create a world in your mind and you just identify with what they are saying. They create short films in your mind with each song, the imagery in their words are likewise to that of a novel.
The content that they write about also, is so different from what you hear these days, even from rock bands. Whilst their songs are about love, they write it in a way that's just completely different to anything I've listened to before, I can't exactly explain it. They also, instead of humans, create their songs in the world of ghosts and monsters. It's insanely good.

From the videos that I have watched of their live performances, the duo put great thought into their set and it pays off. They theme the night around their musics sound of magic and mystery and include a variety of acts before they play. A band that puts that much work into their music and performance deserves all the success they get.

Dead Man's Bones is a band that undoubtedly has the image, vision and sound to go far and become very successful, although their music will not be for all.
